Together with Dirty Fingers Design, we worked to produce the Jemma typeface from scratch in Adobe Illustrator. FontLabs was then used to transform the glyphs into a fully functional display font. The Jemma typeface relies on positive and negative space to create a set of unique and elegant glyphs. The concept was derived from removing elements from serif characters, then building the characters back up to include serifs and stylistic accents. The result is a ‘Modern’ inspired serif font that is both bold and graceful.
‘Thread’ is a magazine concept focusing on the artistic practice of creating textiles. The magazine is an experimental print magazine that uses a non-traditional, modular layout to push the boundaries of typesetting. Each design element is built around a meticulous block grid pattern that allows the reader to get lost in the fascinating world of textiles.
